The 800 Venezuela Program addresses migration queries of Venezuelan nationals residing in Costa Rica

The 800 Venezuela Program of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Costa Rica visited the communities of Talamanca, Tamarindo, Jaco and Paso Canoas to attend to migratory consultations of Venezuelan people residing in these communities.

The objective of bringing the attention to these communities is to provide direct assistance in migration matters free of charge to guide the process of migratory regularization in the country before the General Direction of Migration and Foreign Affairs.

Likewise, people requesting psychosocial care were attended by professional staff in the field, since many of the people who attended reside in communities with a high migrant population, and are in a vulnerable condition.

A total of 120 Venezuelans were assisted in these 4 communities, who benefited from free legal advice on immigration matters, and 51 families were given cards for the purchase of food, hygiene kits and diapers.

IOM Costa Rica, within the framework of the 800 Venezuela Program, develops these immigration regularization initiatives with funding from the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM) of the U.S. Department of State.
